Welcome Note from Amb. Jace Owie (UNYA-NG FOREIGN ENVOY)
It is with immense pleasure that I extend a warm welcome to each of you attending the Government Inter-Cultures Model United Nations Festival. This five-day gathering is not just an event; it is a unique opportunity for high school students from around the globe to immerse themselves in the world of diplomacy, international relations, and cultural exchange.
Throughout this festival, you will have the chance to learn about the workings of the United Nations and engage directly with senior government officials, diplomats, and iconic global leaders. These interactions are designed to provide you with insights into how international cooperation functions and the vital role that young people play in shaping our future.
In addition to formal sessions, we have curated outdoor learning experiences that will allow you to apply what you’ve learned in real-world contexts. These activities are intended to foster teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills while enjoying the beauty of our host city.
As part of your experience, we will also offer guided travel tours that highlight significant cultural and historical sites within our beautiful city. This aspect of the festival aims to deepen your understanding of global cultures and enhance your appreciation for diversity.
I encourage each one of you to take full advantage of this incredible opportunity. Engage actively in discussions, ask questions, and forge connections with your peers from different backgrounds. The knowledge and friendships you gain here can serve as a foundation for your future endeavors in diplomacy and international relations.
Once again, welcome! I look forward to seeing all of you at the festival as we embark on this exciting journey together.
Warm regards,
Amb. Jace Owie
